Oxford International Film Festival is delighted to celebrate its third year with two new host venues - Curzon Oxford and The Ultimate Picture Palace. These distinct venues will provide the perfect environment to screen a selection of the best independent cinema from around the world.
The 2017 Oxford International Film Festival kicked off in style on the 5th of May at the Phoenix Picturehouse with the gala screening of Stanley a Man of Variety, and we were lucky enough to be able to welcome star and co-writer of the film Timothy Spall to Oxford
Promotion for the 2017 Oxford International Festival had its widest reach yet, engaging over half a million people in the Oxford area. This growth was driven by increased press interest in the event with the Oxford Mail, Daily Info, BBC Radio Oxford and multiple student publications in the city covering the event.
OXIFF 2017 drew to a close on Sunday the 7th of May with its annual award ceremony, celebrating the best films of another incredible 3 day weekend. After the ceremony the filmmakers and guests partied into the night at the Rickety Press where they reflected upon what had been an amazing festival of great stories from the world independent film.
The winning film from the inaugural Oxford International Film Festival were announced at a glittering ceremony at the Phonenix Picturehouse on Sunday the 29th of May.
